Helping our people to achieve their potential – now and in future – is at the heart of what we strive for. We want to give them the skills set that supports them now and in the future – understanding their aspirations and development requirements.
This development is critical to building on the innovative culture that we have created at tpgroup. This is focused on advancing technologies and world class services to deliver on our vision to make the world safer – and helping our customers to meet their most demanding challenges.
We believe that you never stop learning. That’s why we continue to expand our suite of development opportunities from supporting you in your role to helping you develop your potential. Our development approach is designed across four stages to take our employees from their early career through to supporting them to take on greater responsibility and senior roles.
We offer a range of in-house, external and online training offerings, as well as partnering with leading training organisations, such as Franklin Covey, to deliver leadership programs. We support our people with continual learning up to postgraduate level.
Future talent programmes
We work with schools, colleges and universities to promote our apprenticeship and graduate programmes. We have a great record of supporting young talent within the business. We look to support you every step of the way from world-class training through to encouraging your progression within the organisation.
We help you develop the skills, competencies and knowledge you need to carry out your role at tpgroup. You’ll learn in an environment where continuous development is encouraged and supported and you’ll have access to 24/7 online courses to further support you.
Next level training
We aim to provide our people with the stretch they need to move into their next role at tpgroup. For example, our Consultants Toolkit provides a thorough grounding in the essential skills required to be effective and efficient in a consultancy role for those moving from another discipline.
Our culture encourages continuous learning and we provide a range of opportunities and support at a senior level. This might involve further academic studies, up to a masters degree, or engaging in leadership and personal growth programmes.
We are proud to offer over 300 courses online to support our people to develop their skills and knowledge. These courses are freely available as part of our resource library. We encourage mentoring across the organisation, and forums for innovation and knowledge sharing.
“The consultant toolkit training was a valuable resource that offered insight into improving customer relationships and how to manage difficult conversations with confidence. He shared interesting insights into how to improve efficiency and manage time better – some of which I have implemented in my daily work.”
Hannah Doyle, tpgroup Cost Consultant
“Studying for my Engineering degree while working has brought unique challenges, particularly around conflicting priorities and time constraints. The support I receive from tpgroup has been vital to maintaining my progress and guiding me through such challenges when they arise. The opportunity to gain experience as I study has also enabled a faster learning curve, as I am able to learn a topic whilst simultaneously implementing it in a work environment. The feedback and reinforcement of knowledge is instant, whilst also providing greater context around the topics I study.”
Harry Purnell, tpgroup Consultant
“I recently undertook the Consultant Toolkit training course. It covered a broad range of subjects from writing styles to personality traits all of which were delivered in an engaging manner with small tasks and challenges to complete during the sessions. The training not only provided skills that could be used i.e. negotiation and writing styles, but also an awareness with regards to personality traits – particularly of how others may perceive you and how to better interact with those with conflicting personalities. I would highly recommend the training to others given the opportunity.”
