We are looking for a Graduate Electrical/Automation Engineer to join our growing TPG Maritime Ltd team in Portsmouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a forward thinking team, who are working on sharing innovative solutions or manufacturing bespoke engineering systems.

The Role

This Graduate Electrical/Automation Engineer position sits within our bespoke engineering solutions side of the business, where we develop life-support systems in critical workspace, oxygen and carbon capture-based solutions, water purification, rugged electronics for harsh environments and precision engineering of high-integrity equipment.

The successful Graduate Electrical/Automation Engineer will contribute to the design of electrical/electronic control systems and ancillary equipment for process plant, and to provide electrical support necessary for manufacture, test and maintenance in-service. You will be responsible for delegated technical aspects of design and for meeting demands of finance and timescale, whilst ensuring all customer requirements are met. You will participate in the decisions for the design during the production of projects, including checking. You will be responsible for engineering designs and production of documentation for hardware and software control systems.

About You

To deliver this role, we envision that you will hold a HND or Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (or similar) with a strong appreciation of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and other Automation controls. You will also be structured and logical in your approach to engineering design as well as being an excellent communicator and advocate to teamworking.

  • Candidates will also need to either hold a current SC clearance or be willing and eligible to undergo a Security Clearance check (SC level) upon starting their employment with the company.
  • To gain SC clearance you will normally need at least 5 years’ UK residency.
