Document Controller

We are looking for a Document Controller to join the Quality Assurance department within our growing TPG Maritime Ltd team in Portsmouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a forward thinking team, who are working on sharing innovative solutions or manufacturing bespoke engineering systems.

The Role

The successful Document Controller will be responsible in ensuring all documents released both internally and to our clients are created and revised to the highest quality following the change control process. You will also be responsible in maintaining documents, recording the latest revisions as well as supporting the introduction of an MS SharePoint platform across the organisation. Furthermore, you will be involved in auditing existing document formats, managing the internal electronic filing systems as well as working closely with the internal/ external teams to obtain understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.

About You

To deliver this role, we envision that you will have excellent written skills, with the ability to deliver high quality documentation in an engineering environment. You will have proven work experience in the creation and control of technical writing and documentation in another document controller role or similar. In depth knowledge of MS Office and MS SharePoint software is a must.

Educated in an engineering or science discipline as well as knowledge of the MoD/Ship building practices are of benefit, but not essential for the role.

  • Candidates will need to undergo an internal BPSS check prior to gaining site access.
  • Candidates will also need to either hold a current SC clearance or be willing and eligible to undergo a Security Clearance check (SC level) upon starting their employment with the company.
  • To gain SC clearance you will normally need at least 5 years’ UK residency.
