Stores & Stocks Supervisor

We are looking for a Stores & Stock Supervisor to join our TPG Maritime Ltd team in Portsmouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team, who are working on sharing innovative solutions or manufacturing bespoke engineering systems.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth running of TPG Maritimes storerooms which includes but is not limited to; supervisory tasks of the stores team, dealing with stocking of operational materials and supplies, inventory control and records, purchasing, control of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), goods in and dispatch and related duties as required.

As the successful Stores & Stock Supervisor, you will be involved in ensuring all tasks are conducted within Company Health and Safety requirements. You will own the supervisory responsibility for goods Inward, dispatch and the orderly running of the General and Bonded Stores along with maintaining accurate control of all formal stock accounts held within Department.

Essential Requirements:

  • Ability to provide supervision and leadership support to team.
  • Ability to remain calm in a challenging environment.
  • Able to effectively plan work to meet deadlines.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated attitude.
  • Computer literate.
  • Prepare and maintain routine records with attention to detail.
  • Create and maintain good working relationships with other supervisors, peers, and the public.

Preferred but not essential:

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing and defence environment especially involving (GFE).
  • Good knowledge of continuous improvement techniques to improve processes.
  • Holds a forklift Truck licence.

  • Candidates must have an existing right to live and work in the UK.
  • Candidates will need to undergo an internal BPSS check prior to gaining site access.
  • Candidates will also need to either hold a current SC clearance or be willing and eligible to undergo a Security Clearance check (SC level) upon starting their employment with the company.
  • To gain SC clearance you will normally need at least 5 years’ UK residency.
