tpgroup at Unlocking Innovation: RailDecarb21
tpgroup is proud to be the headline sponsor at Unlocking Innovation: RailDecarb21, an important industry event that focuses on the critical topics around helping the rail industry to reach Net Zero. The event takes place in Glasgow on Wednesday October 13th.
The event sees presentation sessions from thought leaders and parallel breakout sessions on the hot topics of traction decarbonisation: Hydrogen, Battery and Low-cost electrification. Speakers come from across industry and academia to discuss the challenges and opportunities around the technologies and challenges, including tpgroup, Network Rail, University of Strathclyde and Ricardo.
Jon Constable, tpgroup‘s Managing Director – Atmosphere Management Systems, will be speaking on the role for hydrogen within rail – and how it can support the sector’s decarbonisation strategy. Jon will also be chairing the hydrogen panel which brings together Arcola Energy, H2Green and EnAcumen.
tpgroup is actively engaged within the rail sector. We are providing the hydrogen fuel cell systems that will power the production version of the HydroFLEX – the UK’s first hydrogen train. The contract is with British rolling stock owner Porterbrook, and is part of an initiative that aims to show how hydrogen powered trains can be safely and efficiently operated for future public transport. HydroFLEX is to be showcased on an international stage at the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26), which will be held in Glasgow from 31 October 12 November.
