Our social values

Partnering to make a positive impact

We want to make a positive social, economic and environmental contribution to the communities in which we live and work. Our approach is to understand the needs of our local communities and look to align these with our business strategy, our stakeholder expectations and best practice. We enable this through partnering with organisations on initiatives that have impact and meaning to our business and employees.

The armed forces

We are proud to support active service personnel, veterans and their families. The Company is also a member of the Armed Forces Covenant and pledges to be an armed forces friendly employer.

Education and skills

We inspire young people to consider science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects and careers through a UK STEM Programme and also support students on placement from university.

Supporting the local communities

We actively support various initiatives within the areas that the Company operates including sponsoring youth activities and community projects.

TP Group is committed to understanding and reducing its impact on the environment.

We seek to drive the right behaviours by forging a culture based on respect and responsible business practices – a culture that supports our people in making ethical and sustainable decisions. We have a number of Consultants who are members of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) (Link) who are committed to doing the right thing when it comes to environment and sustainability related initiatives, challenges and opportunities. We aim to reduce our carbon emissions and our use of natural resources so as to better manage our environmental footprint and to minimise our carbon impacts, while future-proofing our business.

Our environmental priorities are:

  • Reduce our carbon footprint to Net Zero by 2050
  • Adapt to climate change
  • Use materials and products from sustainable sources
  • Create greener and cleaner working conditions

We are proud to support our customers and our markets on the journey to Net Zero including:

Project HEART

Project HEART (Hydrogen Electric and Automated Regional Transportation), sees Osprey developing hydrogen powered, automated and remote piloting solutions for small aircraft, carrying between 9 to 19 passengers, travelling ‘short hops’ – less than 500 nautical miles. The project ambition is to provide hydrogen fuelling facilities at up to 100 UK licensed airfields with the initiative is expected to enter service in 2025.

Supporting the MOD to Net Zero

Our consulting business, has used cost-estimating techniques to understand the current and future fossil fuel needs of the UK MOD. Our study incorporated a review of previous science and technology research and trials into the reduction of the use of fossil fuels.

Advancing renewables

Osprey has assisted over 950 wind farms to address their issues on aviation. One of the most recent success stories is the proud association with the Neart na Gaoithe project team to achieve major aviation-related milestones in developing the airspace solution to enable their offshore wind development project to move forward without an aviation based objection.

Project DragonFLY

Osprey is providing certification support and regulatory advice as part of the DragonFLY consortium. This ground-breaking initiative is funded by the Welsh Government European Regional Development Fund to develop a hybrid electric/hydrogen powered aircraft in support of cleaner, greener aviation initiatives achieved through innovative industry collaboration.

Greener working

We continue to reduce our carbon footprint through:

  • Reviewing and reducing our office requirements.
  • Planning to centralise the procurement of gas and electricity for our UK operation to ensure 100% UK generated renewable power from certified renewable sources.
  • Replacing equipment such as air conditioning units at the end of their life with more energy efficient units, and moving to LED lighting where possible and practical.
  • Investing in technology, improving online working and meetings, and training for managers to help them oversee teams of remote workers.
  • A Cycle to Work Scheme to encourage employees to use a more sustainable form of commuting.
  • Moving closer to paperless offices through the transition to Microsoft 365, and ensuring print, where required, is on recycled paper.
  • Identifying and assessing environmental risks, such as packaging waste, arising from its operations. Waste management initiatives are encouraged and supported by the Group and materials are recycled where practicable.

Committed to welfare

TP Group is committed to supporting the physical and mental health and wellbeing of all our employees, to remain in and thrive through work.

Safety at work

We have the utmost commitment to the safety of our people, and those they work alongside. We achieve this through embedding a culture which addresses behavioural and cultural attitudes. We recognise that success depends on our people naturally observing and paying heed to safe practices in whatever they do. This is supported by regular engagement including training and a range of resources. Consultants can often find themselves on unfamiliar customer sites, so we regularly review how we work to ensure it is the safest it can be. At all levels, we manage and record the risk to help prevent injury and cases of work-related illnesses and ensure everyone is aware of any client site related requirements.

Supporting our employees

An Employee Assistance Programme:

This provides all our employees, and their immediate family members, with access to a 24/7 confidential helpline that can be used for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to: family issues, financial information, childcare support, housing concerns and stress and anxiety.

My Healthy Advantage App access:

This provides industry-leading features designed to improve the user’s mental and physical health by using personal metrics to set goals and achievements across four key categories – wellness, wellbeing, engagement and reward & recognition. These provide support for most issues an employee may be facing and offer effective management techniques.

Mental health first aiders:

We provide access to trained mental health first aiders as a first point of contact if our employees, or someone they are concerned about, are experiencing a mental health issue or emotional distress.
